Eeyou Communications Network Case Study

Eeyou Communications Network is a network serving northern Quebec (Eeyou Istchee) including nine Cree communities and five Jamesien municipalities. ECN needed a reliable and affordable alternative to their fiber connection. The connection was needed for a local school in a remote area of Quebec where any telecom solution is very expensive, and they had a limited budget to meet.

Galaxy provided our Ka MCPC system that was proposed for their site. It provides industry leading download speeds up to 50Mbps with a CIR (committed information rate) of up to 12.5Mbps download and 6Mbps upload speed with a 1:1 contention ratio.

ECN brings diversified connectivity to global telecommunications networks, Internet highway and service and content providers to promote a wide set of opportunities both at the social and economic levels.
