Eeyou Communications Network Case Study
ECN needed help connecting the rural community of Whapmagoostui in Northern Quebec with an affordable and reliable satellite solution.
Whapmagoostui is perfectly situated in Galaxy’s Beam 50, enabling them to receive our service. Galaxy suggested our 4th Gen MCPC network, as that system will meet business and recreational traffic requirements.
Whapmagoostui was provided with a reliable commercial dedicated Satellite Link.
Eeyou Communications Network is a network serving northern Quebec (Eeyou Istchee) including nine Cree communities and five Jamesien municipalities. ECN needed a reliable and affordable alternative to their fiber connection. The connection was needed for a local school in a remote area of Quebec where any telecom solution is very expensive, and they had a limited budget to meet.
Galaxy provided our Ka MCPC system that was proposed for their site. It provides industry leading download speeds up to 50Mbps with a CIR (committed information rate) of up to 12.5Mbps download and 6Mbps upload speed with a 1:1 contention ratio.
ECN brings diversified connectivity to global telecommunications networks, Internet highway and service and content providers to promote a wide set of opportunities both at the social and economic levels.
“ECN needed a reliable connectivity solution for the Cree community of Whapmagoostui and after much analysis, we decided to go forward with a satellite solution from Galaxy Broadband. We are completely satised with the connection provided and are very grateful for the excellent support provided by Galaxy Broadband.”
